Dear friends of Jay,

I received the news of Jay's passing. I am saddened beyond words as you all must be as well. Please give my condolences to Rud and Ann, Amy and Kate and all. I will send a note to them later today.

I have many, many wonderful memories of Jay. I think my favorite was when he told the world he didn't want to work in a workshop but wanted to work someplace with air conditioning and where he could wear a jacket to work! Great idea, Jay. Self respect and taking care of self. Those are two things that too many people miss and I've told thousands about him.

I have kept up with Jay life through his wonderful parents but often wished we lived closer. I feel as though he taught me far more that I ever was able to teach him and I always wanted more. He was a true positive influence on my work and my life and the world is less rich for his passing. I'll leave it there for now as I can't type through the tears.

Jay and all those who loved him are in my prayers, my thoughts and my heart.
