I have just received the news that Jay passed away earlier this week. My thoughts are with you, Rud, Ann, Amy, and Kate. Although I never met Jay, I felt, like so many others, that I knew him through the stories shared by Rud, Ann, and Kate when I got to know her in San Diego. His love of ties and sport coats in a denim world, his job shredding documents when he enjoyed tearing paper, and the steps that he helped all of us take toward a more inclusive world have left a legacy that many of us would be proud to claim.
