As a first year doc student at KU with only a small circle of friends, I was invited to Jay Turnbull's for a party at the end of the first semester. How gracious he was to open his home to me, my husband, and all of the people there. We met people who later became friends, enjoyed delicious food, and sang songs and Christmas carols. My first Christmas in Lawrence is always associated with this fine man. Condolences to us all.
