Dear Rud & Ann,

I was so saddened to hear of the passing of JT and am sorry for this devastating loss. JT was such an integral, and beautiful, part of your lives that I can only imagine how difficult this must be. My heart goes out to both of you and your girls. I think, in JT's case, death is a transition and not an end. So many people were enriched by his heroic life and the hope he generated by overcoming adversity that he will not be forgotten. I tell his story and that of your family to more than 500 students each year and they are deeply affected. You can be sure that I will continue to do so over the years. His was a meaningful life and a reminder to all of us about what really matters. I will think of him often and share him with others.
