I am shocked and in tears at hearing of Jay's death. I only met him once at your house. But I got to know him well both through your eyes and my own. For he and I shared the same kind of parents -- who loved us for who we were, believed in us and, gave us the most precious gift of all, the ability to love and believe in ourselves.

The death of a child at any age is a terrible loss, which never fully heals. Take heart, my friend with Ann and your daughters, at the precious gift that you gave Jay and how he embraced it and returned it many fold.
