Dear Rud and Ann,

We are in Austin and are so sorry that we will be unable to be at the service for Jay at Plymouth on Saturday. We have been thinking of you ever since we got the word and know that you are having to deal with this sad event way too early. My first thought was that Jay and Austin were the same age and how it would feel for your child to precede you in death.

The grieving process will be longl, but I hope you are sustained by the knowledge that you took parenting to a high standard of excellence with Jay and he was blessed to have you both being his partners in his life. If ever a person had parental and sibling advocacy, Jay did.

We will all miss him, but will remember him fondly.
