Dear Ann and Rud,
I was deeply saddened to hear about JT's sudden death. My heart really sank as Rud was telling me the news on the phone. I could not control my tears dropping down from my face as I shared the news with Helen and Cindy.
I know how difficult this must be for you two because through the years that I spent at the Beach Center I had come to understand how much JT is meant to your life. JT was such a kind and gentle soul. I remember vividly that he stopped by my office almost every morning, knocking gently on my door and then doing his special handshake with me. Despite no much talk, his special morning greeting with handshake and laughter often made my day. I can hardly find words to express my sorrow and grief for loosing such a fine and special friend.
As I mourn your family loss, I quickly come to realize it's not only yours but also ours, a loss to the big "family" in which we all share the passion and dedication to individuals with disabilities. JT lived a, albeit relatively short, memorable life for he has changed so many people's lives including myself. He will be remembered by us as the greatest teacher and inspiration.
Helen and Cindy join me to send our sincere condolence to you, and we pray for JT's peaceful rest in Father's chest in the heaven. Please take good care of yourselves and you're in our thoughts and prayers. Mian
