Dear Ann and Rud,
I am overwhelmed with sadness for your loss of Jay. No parents should ever outlive their child especially one who brought so much joy into the lives of others. While I did not know Jay, stories abound of the light he brought into a room.
I can't even pretend to understand why their valuable life is taken away at such an early age. My oldest is in medical school and we have talked often about how you approach such a tender issue.
What you two did for Jay, empowering him to live a life like he did is an inspiration to all of us...Way, way more than book, articles, and talks.I am so proud to say I know you and have you as colleagues.
You are in the discussions, thoughts, and prayers of our family.
