Dear Ann and Rud,

Somehow I was drawn to the Beach Center webpage and was then stunned to learn of J.T.'s death. Since that day a week or so ago, I have talked with both Bob Banning and Mary Morningstar. Both Katharina and I have been thinking of you ever since. One of the nightmares that troubles me the most is that of losing one of our girls. I know you are both strong individuals but please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. As Jay was your "best buddy - best man" he was my best teacher.
He should know that 5 parents and I have opened an autism spectram center here on the Central Coast. I am sure he does know.
