Dear Turnbull Family,


On behalf of the Division for Early Childhood (DEC), I would like to extend our sympathies for your recent loss. Many of us were introduced to JT as we began our undergraduate or graduate special education studies in the first Parents Speak Out. Although we may have not met him, we feel that we have grown up with him due to the stories shared about his journey in your presentations, research, and publications. Through your collected voices, JT helped impact practices in early childhood to be more reflective of and supportive to the family. The fields of early intervention and early childhood special education will always be indebted to JT and his time here on earth.
