Dear Ann and Rud,
I don't expect you to remember me, but I babysat for your children many moons ago ago. You two were in New York for the McNeill-Lehr report, as I recall. We all watched on tv to see if Rud would tug his ear. Although my memory has faded, I will always remember what wonderful parents you were. I have a memory of taking Jay to a James Taylor concert at the Starlight Theatre. He sang out loud to his heart's content. I also have a memory of Ann making a pecan pie for me. I always remember good food! My parents moved to Lawrence several years ago, and heard Rud speak at their New Generations group. My mom recently told me about Jay's passing. I just wanted to offer my sympathies. It was nice to read about what a fine man Jay turned out to be. You two are an inspriration.
I hope that you are taking care of yourselves during this difficult time. You are in my thoughts, and I wanted you to know that I have not forgotten your kindness after all of these years.
