Dear Ann,
When I read Nina’s email informing of the unexpected death of JT, I was keenly aware of how much I wanted to write to you. I would rather give you a hug but that will have to wait for another time. I must apologize for the lateness of this letter. I have been away from email and have only just received the news.
I never met JT but his life has clearly been inspirational to so many. I loved your foreword in Bill Gaventa’s book on Spirituality and Disability. I read the part about JT’s response to music to my husband (Michael, recently ordained Anglican priest, long-term musician), and we shared the joy of thinking of another of God’s kingdom who understands the power of music to show a glimpse of heaven. Lovely to think, too, that JT is now enjoying more than a glimpse.
I do hope that in this time of deep sadness, you and all your family will be comforted by those who love you – and in particular our Lord Jesus.
As for me, I give thanks for all that JT inspired – particularly your work in quality of life that has helped so many families, including my own.
With much love,
Rhonda Faragher
